I'd bought a City Card beforehand (had it posted to the UK) and on arrival stepped on to the train within airport building immediately after collecting luggage. 40 minutes later stepped off at Hackerbrucke station, walked across the bridge and the hotel was maybe 100 metres away to the left. The hotel is situated on a reasonably quiet road that leads into the centre of Munich, the tram stops 20 metres to the left of the hotel entance. Or get back on the train to the centre, there are numerous lines and I never waited more than 5 minutes to get on one. The hotel in my opinion was fantastic; modern, very clean, effective lighting, and the room was spacious and innovative. It had the "I could stay in here instead of exploring the city factor". Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was an assortment of fruit, meat, cheese and bread, and other things. Couldn't have asked for anything more. The coffee wasn't very hot on the second morning (there you go, the only negative. I had to say it, I'm English). The city centre is only a minute or two away on the train. Didn't like area around Haubtbahnhof central station, but loved everywhere else including Karlsplatz and Marienplatz. Too much to fit in over a 48 hour stay, but the S and U bahn make exploring a lot easier and there are lots of surprises in each area of the city. Only place I didn't get to was the cafe that Henrik Ibsen once frequented. I will do that next time and I will definitely return to this hotel.
