I was completely satisfied with the cleanliness, facilities, amenities. I was a little taken-back by the distance from the "main drag". I cannot recall seeing a reference to this in the information given.
Extremely helpful staff, wonderful breakfast, perfect location for someone travelling by car because of the available parking space. The only objection - a lack of English-speaking TV channels (news channels in particular). All 30 channels were in German, not much of an interest for someone who doesn't speak the language.
Excellent location, close to train station. Good value for money.
A Munich Value

Our triple room (three adults) was normally a double room with an added rollaway bed. As a result, space was tight, but we're used to that. The location was fine for a visit to Munich if you are ok with using the S-bahn and don't mind a five minute walk to and from the stop. One of our party had medication which needed to be kept refrigerated. Since there was no refrigerator or minibar in the room, the staff obliged by keeping it in a hotel refrigerator. However, the desk was not staffed and hence the medication was inaccessible from 2200 to 0600. This was not a problem once we understood the desk closed at 2200 not the stated 2300. When on duty, the staff was very capable and cordial. We would definitely consider staying again.
Great Stay
From the moment my grandmother and I arrived until the time we left, we felt very welcomed here. The staff spoke English to us, or patiently communicated with my broken German. The hotel is only 3 stops from the Hauptbahnhof on the S-bahn, with 6 different lines going to and from, so getting around Munich is quite simple. I really appreciated that aspect. While there isn't much to see around the hotel, it's still in a nice enough area. The rooms are small - but adequate for what we needed during our stay. The food was good - a traditional European breakfast. I would choose to stay there again if I'm back in Munich.
Best value in Munich
Hotel Tessin Munich gets our vote as best value for the money in Munich! As we found out during our latest visit for New Years 2009, this city is not cheap to visit. The average price we were finding was about 70 Euro per night for a couple in a 2-3 star room. Hotel Tessin was 59 Euro for a great room with breakfast included. The location is just a walk away from the S-Bahn at Liam station. This puts you out of downtown by about three stops but the Liam area has great beer gardens and grocery stores. The noise factor was minimal due to the excellent double pane windows. The staff is great with the receptionist speaking perfect English and being very helpful. The free WIFI in the rooms was quick and convient.
vacation stay
The staff were very helpful and very friendly, the location is great as it is right newr all transportation within minutes. Breakfast was super. The room was small, but comfortable and adequate for our needs. Not downtown, but with the transportation you are there within minutes also. I would stay there again.
